The Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) coordinates community-based services for people with developmental disabilities. Here is how the process typically works.
Step 1: Determine eligibility DDA serves Marylanders whose developmental disability originated before age 22 and substantially limits at least three major life activities. Documentation usually includes school records, psychological evaluations, and medical history.
Step 2: Apply through your regional office Baltimore-area applicants work with the Central Maryland Regional Office. Submit the Eligibility Determination Request along with supporting documentation.
Step 3: Choose a Coordinator of Community Services (CCS) Your CCS helps create a Person-Centered Plan that defines goals, services, and providers.
